Civics and History Summit!

Featured Performance:

They serve four communities within the Rosebud Reservation which includes the Red Leaf community, Corn Creek community, Black Pipe community, and Norris. They are the first elementary drum group in existence to originate from Black Pipe. There are 10 boys (Oka's) and 11 girls (Wicaglata's). The girls perform a prayer song at the beginning of every school day, followed by the boys singing the Lakota National Anthem with a Victory song.

We're thrilled to share that the Black Pipe Singers from Norris Elementary of the White River School District will be featured at the event! The group is led by Brian Brown, principal and drum moderator at Norris Elementary/Black Pipe School. They are part of the White River School District. The school was founded and built in 1894.
